When space allows on the property, a detached ADU can add the most value to your property should you decide to sell your home in the future. For the investor that decides to rent out the ADU for additional income, a detached ADU can also bring in the highest income as opposed to other ADU options. By creating a separate and private living space, future tenants living in the ADU, as well as the main house will really feel like they have their own space.
